NEW PATIENTS
Back Pain
According to a study published in the June 1990 edition of the esteemed British Medical Journal, the following conclusion was reached: In people with low back pain, manipulation was appropriate for achieved worthwhile, long-term benefit when compared to those who had hospital outpatient management for their condition.
Neck Pain
A common condition, facet joint problems represent an example of mechanical neck pain. Found in the back of the neck, facets can be injured or strained, causing localised and radiating pain. The pain may refer into the shoulder, arms or upper back, depending on your particular neck issue. Chiropractic may be an effective way to provide relief from neck pain.
Pregnancy
Though an exciting time of life, pregnancy can take a toll on a mum’s spine. The expanding abdomen can result in stress to the back in the form of an increased back curve, pelvic space remodelling and other postural changes. Backaches and pelvic pain are common. The good news is that chiropractic may help alleviate pregnancy-related aches and pains.
Paediatrics
As babies have soft spines and nervous systems, the birthing process can be highly traumatic as it places enormous stress on the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. We look forward to optimising your child’s health with chiropractic.
Pinched Nerves
Containing 24 movable segments called vertebrae, your spinal column protects and houses your spinal cord. Delicate nerve roots come out from each adjoining part of the bones, carrying nerve energy to each section of your body. At the same time, the body is dispatching messages back to the spinal cord and brain. As the integrity of the spinal structure is vital to enjoying normal function, chiropractic care may help keep your spine strong and healthy.
Slipped Disc
If you have experienced sudden, severe back pain, you may have what is called a slipped disc. It is not possible, however, for a disc to slip. Instead, it may bulge or herniate, causing sciatic, back or leg pain. Because the disc may compress the nerve root, debilitating pain may ensue. Slipped disc can be diagnosed and treated with chiropractic although surgical intervention may sometimes be necessary.
Scoliosis
Often defined as a curvature of the spine, scoliosis may be improved by mobilising your spinal segments, doing spinal exercises and rehabilitating the supportive soft tissues. With these actions, you may perform better with less pain and greater function. The Cobb Angle, the worldwide gold standard for quantifying spinal deformities, is used to assess progress.
Sciatica
This type of pain, which can be acute or chronic, originates in the low back and then radiates downwards, following the sciatic nerve through the buttock and lower leg. A herniated or slipped disc is the most common cause and can be detected by an MRI or CT. We use exceptionally gentle spinal mobilisations to help restore spinal function and movement.
Sports Injury
Whether you work out at the gym on occasion or engage in high-level sports, injuries can result. Those who participate in such sports may see results from a chiropractor who can treat, rehabilitate and prevent injury. Jeff, who has expertise in analysing and correcting musculoskeletal conditions, has had numerous athletes under his care.
Headaches
Headaches are a common condition that can affect overall quality of life with pain, mental fog, as well as physical symptoms. Chiropractic care is an option that addresses underlying issues that cause many types of headaches including tension, cervicogenic, and migraines.
